Fishing has become an integral part of my life. What started as a hobby to occupy my mind through some rough patches has grown into a deep love and borderline obsession. Fishing has become my escape from both the everyday doldrums and from the hardships that life throws me. Now more than ever I feel myself needing this space to disconnect from the craziness of "everyday life" and reconnect with myself and nature.
Fly fishing and being in a river far away from the hustle and bustle has had such a profound impact on my life. Because of that, I am now inspired to share this experience with others. I can only hope that I will be able to help others to not only learn how to fly fish, but also to respect, appreciate, and hopefully love both the sport and the entire experience.
What started as a pipedream over beers with friends after a long day on the water is now coming to fruition. Becoming a fishing guide and being able to share my passion for the experience has been my dream for quite some time - and now it has become real life!
It hasn't been the smoothest of rides, but I have learned that the best things in life are usually not the easiest to attain. There have been many long drives alone to random parks across the state to take exams and become certified, and there have been many times where I wanted to give up. But I wouldn't be true to myself if I had given up on this passion. In my core, I have always known that I needed to do this.
